My son is now 2 months old I've been in and out of the hospital for the last month. They discovered his neutrophils were low. And infants levels are suppose to be at 1.2 for normal my sons are .07.. I just got referred to an oncologist/ hematologist. The only symptoms I can see is he is sleeping a lot more, doesn't care to eat sometimes and is so so fussy. I'm so worried because it seems like everyone wants to bring up leukopenia. My son is 13lbs 7oz and 24 1/4 in long he seems to be growing fine. Does anyone know anything that could help ease my mind.?

At 10 months old my daughter was diagnosed with autoimmune neutropenia. She's been in the hospital 5 times and she's now two yrs old. Whenever she spiked a fever we were told to go to the ER. However her numbers had gone up in January and we've been able to monitor her at home and give oral antibiotics. Her numbers are back down now, 200 range. My daughter had gotten 6 ear infections in 3 months so we had an ENT put tubes in. Now the tubes drain but she suffers from chronic sinus infections. It's very hard to see your child suffer through countless blood draws and hospital stays, but there will be good numbers in the future but also will be bad numbers. If your son is diagnosed, prepare for a long battle.
