Anyone with a low tone muscle baby?

Hi, my daughter, Kayla, will turn 1 on Feb 23 and she has recently been diagnosed with low muscle tone in her trunk. We've contacted our local Early Intervention program and are waiting for an appointment. Anyone else has a low tone muscle baby? Can you recommend some exercises that I can do with her while waiting for the appointment?

Thanks so much:)

I have 4 kids... we discovered low tone in my daughter when she was 3... she is now 12 and has done just fine! According to Easter seals we did early intervention at 3.... your doing that at 1 year! That is great.

My son is 5 and has low tone. He avoids playground activity because of it... but we are joining karate... he was just diagnosed 2 months ago.

My sister is an OT and said as a baby... Lot of tummy time. It is VERY common.I'm sure she'll be just fine.

Don't panic is my first word of advice.  Mine is not a baby any more he is 17 and has low muscule tone.  He has just recently been diagnosed with marfan syndrome...He does not have enough cologin in his tendons so he comes out of joint very easily.  The best thing you can do is lay her on the floor and help her do sit ups and have her stand up and touch her toes. Make it a game so it doesn't become a job..A good game is head and shoulders Knees and toes..Anything to help build the muscules is great...But just remember she may be thin her whole 17 yro is 5'7" and only wieghs 97 lbs...But hes healthy hes jusst very skinny...Let us know how it goes with the doctors
