Hi,I'm a single mum and have been doing it on my own from day one.I was put under circumstances where the father of my child was jailed and sentenced to 3yrs imprisonment.I lived with my new bf and he helped me support my child.when she was 3yrs old he passed away. This led me to returning back home by my family.I worked and supported my child alone until my family stepped in and helped where they could as I weren't earning much. When I spoke to my ex on the phone he promised that when he was released he would help support her,I was happy. But then I noticed some things he was slacking on.Yes he pays her school fees and sees to stationary and uniforms.but lunch things are hard to get out of him.I am unemployed for two yrs now due to me falling ill.If I need anyting for our child I have to go through his new wife as its been told that he hates me.I've done this but she don't seem to relay messages to him at all as she is jealous of the child I got with him and feels he should only support her child from a previous relationship and the child she has with bf has been supporting us a lot though he has a 2yr old he also supports. My ex says he's unemployed but they live a posh life and have the best while the child he has with me child don't visit or sleep over anymore due to the fact that his wife don't like her and can I go about getting my set maintenance out of him every month as he does have money but refuses to give me.

That's a tough one. And it seems like you might need some legal help if you want to get anything set in stone as far as child support. In the meantime, if they have this in your area, you might want to look into something like WIC (Women, Infants, and Children). It's federally funded and provides food for moms and kids through age five. So, might be helpful to you right now? Just a thought!

You need to file for child support orders if you haven't already. That's the only way you can enforce payment of anything.
