My son is in Kindergarten, he is up at 6:15am...his bed time is 7:30pm, is that too early? What is an appropriate bed-time for a 5 year old?

That sounds fine. I am an advocate for early-ish bedtimes myself. Several moms in my area (myself included) have 7-7:30 bedtimes. If you or dad come home late and he stays up a little later for some time with you, that's fine too, but for a five year old getting up at 6:15, I would say no later than 8-8:30. Kids really need adequate sleep, they're growing and developing so fast.

It depends on how much sleep he needs. My oldest needed about 12 hours of sleep until after 6 years old, so bedtime was 6:30 (since wake up time was also 6:30).

When we put him to bed at 8:30 or 9, and he gets up the same as normal, his behavior is terrible...many temper tantrums...
