My 25 y o son would like to work and has had jobs before but he seems to have so many insecurities holding him back. Does anybody have any suggestions for work ? He is very anxious but always says he wants to start his own life. His Dad and I would really like that also.

A workforce center would be good. They helped my sons develop resumes, worked on their interview and interaction skills, and helped them prepare for life.

Most also partner with vocational rehab, which helps people who either have slight developmental or other quirks, such as stuttering, etc. My eldest is an Aspie's kid, and it helped him to get it "together", if you will. He has always been a presentable and engaging young man, but has a hard time curbing his quirkiness . When people give him the chance, they get a great employee, but his first attempts at job hunting were fiascoes.

He is 22, has been on his own since 19, and was just able to move into a larger place where, as he said, he felt like a "real" adult... "you know, with a house, and a lawn and stuff, mom!" LOL.

Your son will find his niche!
