Hi,there, my son was born with hemivertebra although it wasn't detected until he was 3 weeks old. He is now 3 and a hlaf and awaiting surgery to remove one of the abnormal vertebras and have a rod inserted in a second surgery. He has the hemivertebras on T7, 9 & 11, as well as deformed lumber vertebras. He moves around very well and met all of his milestones, ie, crawling, walking. He runs and climbs over everything and it has not held him back. Hope your littlie is doing well...

In general sonographically detected isolated fetal hemivertebrae carry a good prognosis. Ultrasound appears accurate in the diagnosis of both the level and type of congenital malformation. The value of very early surgical management needs continued assessment.

That's what I found. So prognosis is relatively good.
