A girl in my child's class, told my child when my child doesn't want to play with her, "liar, liar, pumpkin liar, have the rats chase you. I will ask my mom and dad tonight, to have them get all the rats in the whole wide world to chase you!", more often she will threaten my child if my child does not play with her, she will tell on her "Mrs. So and So, Alex is mean to me"... my child is described by her teachers "The sweetest, most polite child ever", "does not have a mean bone in her", while the other girl has been timed out more than once in both classes she has attended... my child has nightmares about this girl, even in my child's dreams, she sometimes cried out, "Please don't be so mean to me!" sigh... we have lost sleeps...
I was shocked when I heard the above sayings, especially from a 5 year old. But the teachers told me, "these says are normal. They don't know what they are talking about..." really? when a kid so specifically described the action of asking her parents to gather the rats in the whole wide world, she does not know what she is talking about?
I read a book about early-age bullies, it starts with, bullies exist at school, because the teachers don't discipline them. They are headaches for the teachers who should not be teachers to begin with. Is this true?
Also I am seeking for any recommendations on how to deal with this type of mean kids? and the teachers? how to deal with private schools when issues come up like this? public schools have superintendent as their higher authority, how about private schools, are there such organizations/person to overlook the private schools?
