Asthma drug concerns

Any drug has a list of potential side effects as long as your arm. What you have to ask yourself is, if my baby has a condition (e.g. asthma) are the potential risks from NOT taking the treatment worse than the potential side effects if she does take them.
An asthma exacerbation can kill and is also an extremely traumatic experience for both the youngster and the parents. My almost-3 year old has asthma and she has been hospitalised once before we changed treatments. I wouldn't wish that on her (or us for that matter) ever again.
My daughter now has 2 puffs of a pulmicort inhaler morning and night, plus albuterol when she needs it. She's a different child - happy, sleeps well, has bags of energy.
By all means monitor your child while they are on medication, but if they need it....they need it.
