No, you are not too young for pre-menopause. Can begin in your 30's. I am 41 and going thru night sweats, etc. Seems to happen on and off. My mom began at 41. I believe I began about 38. Menopause is when you are thru it all and your cycle stops. My periods are usually on time, but I have started a week late a couple of times.I watched information about it on the Oprah Show and The Doctors. Most of the world seems to think you have to be in your 50's and older. Not true at all.

Peri-menopause can start as early as mid to late 30's. My mother in law was done with menopause by the time she was 48. My best friend is 43 and going through it now. So're not too young but you should talk to your doctor. The only way my best friend found out was because she had her appendix taken out. When they ran her blood work they checked her hormone levels because some of the symptoms she was having had nothing to do with her appendix. She is in the begining stages...night sweats, vivid dreams, MOODY AS HELL (LOL), the only thing that hasn't changed is that her periods are still normal. Heavy, but on time.

My mother started at 49 years old the full menopause. I am 43 and I am going through Pre menopause now for about a year. My doctor said it can start as early as 35 years old. My doctor said you can go through the pre menopause stage for years before going through the full stage of it.
I haven't seen my doctor yet for a second appointment to go over if medication is need yet or what I can do to lessen the symptoms.

Well if early menopause runs in your family your more likely to start sooner too. My gramma started in her early forties, my mom started at 38. Just more fun for me to look forward to. =)

I've also heard if you started your period earlier in life that menopause comes on sooner too. Can't remember where I heard it though.
