My daughter knows a lot already (they physical changes the body goes through), and we are just about to talk about periods, because I can see many of her friends growing up. She is 9. I think she needs to know a bit more of the detail before her friends start getting theirs.

I personally will start talking to my daughter about her body young. She is only 4 now, so we talk about body parts and differences between boys and girls. As she gets older, the conversation will be more in depth. I would like to think she will understand periods by around 9. All the women in my family generally start periods young, so I don't want her to be surprised. how old is your daughter?
