I have three issues with the name Aubrey:
1. It used to be a male name. Although it's switched to being a popular girl name in recent years, a lot of people will find it ambiguous. My preference is for names where people can be 99% sure about the gender.
2. Aubrey can be misheard as Audrey, and can be easily mis-read as Audrey if the writing isn't clear. Again, I have a preference for names that aren't easily confused with other names.
3. Aubrey is definitely on the upswing in popularity. I think it's in the top 15 or top 20 in the US now, and it's popularity is increasing.
I don't think that any of these things are deal breakers. None of them are horrible issues. They're just things to consider.
