Do you live in the US? If so the public school may be a better setting for him. I have my own kids in Catholic school but I work in the public school system. Catholic schools are just not equipped to handle the needs of kids who needs the extra attention, not IMO are they the right place for truly exceptional students. If you elect to keep him at his current school the public school is required to provide services for him like speech therapy, behavioral therapy and tutoring, but they will not have to go to his school or during school hours. So that may mean he leaves his school for a few hours during the day or goes after school for services.
