my sow born at 41wks after getting a sweep, labour was long & hard but while pushing for almost 2 hours he was born blue & silent, his cord was round his neck twice & the midwife is standing there quite the thing asking my partner if he would like to cut the cord, me screaming at her to make him breath quickly snapped her back to reality & she rushes him off to a table & finally gets him to cry.....
pure releif he was just perfection. he was a quite baby & never made a fuss, was a slow talker & walker, even stopping speeking altogether aged 2. his speech has always been hard to understand for others but starting school he has now developed this terrible stutter. social skills are very poor for him to. now 5 years on he is diagnosed with autism.

This is a difficult diagnosis to accept. His delivery probably had nothing to do with his current diagnosis. Autism is a controversial topic and there and many opinions regarding causes and treatment. Hopefully you live in an area with a good school system and the very best services can be provided. Dr. Elisabeth Sandberg wrote a great handbook for parents on aspergers/autism and the various treatments available.
