My son Is turning two tomorrow he hasnt been diagnosed with autism yet but they say he shows signs (though they say if he is he's high functioning). I know he has some kind of learning disability. Hes Not very verbal though he knows at least 20 words he doesnt always use them and gets mad and throws horrible violent fits if you try to teach him new ones...Hes very sound sensative also ,likes to run in circles and shake his head alot and has poor eye contact with anyone but myself . I have CVAP early start coming by 3 times a week for 7 hours each week but they wont diagnosis him indefinitely till he is 2 and a half (they just keep telling me he's "high risk") . I just wish I knew how to communicate with him better and have asked to sit on on the sessions so I know how to interact with him so he'll be more open to learning. Some things he gets right off the bat and hes on a comprehensive level of a 3 yr old by the analysis they did I just dont know how to get him to play or how to play with him. So far Ill sing him songs and show him the movements have been working on sign language and reading books and identifying things in them and tickle fights ...Any one eles who has a little one whos has similar issues please help I just want to help him be more verbal help him learn ...hes so smart I just cant seem to help him let it out
