So my son is 21 months he will be 2 soon end of august. Well he doesn't really talk its mostly jibber jabber, and screaming. Kind of says mom and dad but its not very clear if he does. I am growing concerned by others judgement then in the pit of my stomach I start thinking more and more about the differences he has compared to others at his age. So I researched autism a little and I found a couple of the things he does in there. Such as he spins in circles mostly to music so maybe thats him dancing. But then he also will roll his head around sort of like loosening your neck muscles. And banging head back on the furniture, sure at first its funny but then what if? I dont know I am not an expert he isnt due for the next well child appt until september. Another sign was tapping ears but he doesnt really tap he picks at em and I have asked the Dr. about that last time and he said he just likes to play with them b/c they were not infected. He does give me hugs if I hold my arms out. My question is to other moms who have childeren with similar symptoms or have expertise on autism itself?

Just wasnt the web, my sister has a friend who specializes in it and my sister talked about my son to her. So part of my information is from her.

Stay off the web. Waaaay too soon for labels. We can often focus so much on the behaviors we fear, we miss all the rest. Make sure you have folks in your life that can offer a blanced opinion.
And, if you have concerns, early intervention is critical. The sooner the better, but really, no matter what the outcome, keep your focus on his many strengths.
