It does make sense Shannon, some days just hit you harder than others, there's an ebb and a flow. You can't always be perfectly optimistic and happy.

When it's a down day, do what you need to do to get yourself right. Do something nice for yourself. The other one is sit down and be quiet and talk to your mother. Her words are with you, just listen with your heart.

My grandpa, who raised me more than my dad, died 3 years ago. I talk to him often. I don't always hear his words, but I feel his presence and it helps.

Shannon, I have an autistic son, too, though I'm blessed that for now, he's not violent.

I'm hoping that your son is in therapy of some sort and that he's not bigger than you yet.

There are several great autism groups here, it's why I came to CoM. I'd give you a link, but I'm too new to know how. lol Go up to the top bar and search autism and I bet you'll find some useful suggestions.
