My son didn't start speaking at the usual age. We made him undergo medical checkup. The result was he had autism spectrum syndrome. He often suffered from constipation. Now he has bloody stool. Do these, constipation and anal bleeding, have something to do with autism?

Hi, I have a son who was diagnosed with severe autism about a year ago and has GI issues also. He has always had constipation and was recently put on Miralax, which has worked wonders. A lot of our children have these issues. I also decreased his cows milk intake and started supplementing with almond milk. This helped a lot as well. It is a very difficult journey with our children on the spectrum but it does get easier. Hope this helps.
