Hello. I am concerned about my 6.5 month old daughter. She does not make good eye contact and is very quiet. Her eyes started to cross at 4 months and she wears glasses now. Help?? I am very worried about her. She is my 3rd and just seems different. It is hard to get her to laugh. She smilies, but then looks away. She loves her baby food, but was allergic to my breast milk and is on a milk free formula.

Not all 6 month olds laugh all that much. I have a 6 month old who i've heard laugh maybe 3 times her whole life. She just isn't giggly. Yet her sister who is two, I have videos of her cracking up so hard she can't breath at 6 months old. Kids are just different.

Since she does have vision issue it might be those keeping her from making eye contact. Maybe focusing on a face hurts her eyes so she looks away at something further away. It is easy to give the wrong glass prescription for that age.

You should always talk to your doctor though. Bring it up to them on what you're seeing and feeling. They will be able to help more than we can.

Since she is a girl the likelihood of autism is pretty low.
