Did you keep ALL of your 1st born's baby clothes? If so how long?

I kept the toys that my daughter played with the most and the ones I liked the most. I just put them up in the attic. Even now my youngest is 14, and I am keeping all their books and still the "timeless" toys. I'm keeping it now for grandkids so they will have something to play with at my house some day.

I kept almost all of them because I knew I was going to try to have another baby some day (and I am thrifty). I had my second almost 5 years later, and I was so glad I kept it all because I had another girl. If it had been a boy, I would have donated the girl stuff. I guess if we had more money maybe I wouldn't have kept it all; probably just the more meaningful things that came as gifts or that I found especially cute. Lots of the stuff I kept had come from yard sales, but I don't care. Why spend a fortune on baby clothes (or kid clothes for that matter) when they outgrow them so fast and don't care how they look anyway.

Be careful if you store them in the attic because the elastic won't last too long. Also if you don't get spitup stains out before storage, they will show up later (not that babies care though :).

Carla - Did you keep all the baby toys, bath tubs, etc too? We're still debating on Baby #2 a few years from now. So I'm afraid to get rid of everything, but we have so much stuff it's driving me crazy. lol
