6 months or later. Babies should be able to sit up, hold their heads, be tongue thrusting, show interest in food, and be able to sit comfortably in a high chair. When you do introduce food, it should be looked at as practice, and breast milk or formula should still be the primary nutrition. Remember to introduce 1 food, and not to introduce anything new for 3-5 days to watch for reactions.
