My baby girl is 4 1/2 months old... She is breastfed and most of the nights will eat 4 times :-( the times are never consistent but 9pm 12am maybe 2:30am 4:30 or 5am and sometimes she will wake up just a hour or so after a feeding(not usually but once in awhile? I do produce alot so I know I have enough milk? Is this common??

I don't know how common it is, but I imagine it's not unusual. My daughter is 18 months and has been on the same eating schedule you described since she was a tiny baby. She still wakes up three times a night for a bottle. We've tried getting her to eat more during the day (cereal, solid food, etc.) but she is just not a big eater. I have friends with kids roughly her age who started sleeping through the night around 1, but they are also little piggies and will eat anything anyone puts in front of them. This seems like the most sound advice I've heard, just doesn't work for us unfortunately. Other's have suggested we let her cry it out, and then she'd be hungrier during the day, but we're just not willing to go that route.

How long has this been going on for? Do you have her eating cereal yet? I know when my little girl was that age she had a major growth spurt and was feeding every 1.5 hours for 40 mins!! I was going crazy and after I started her on milk and cereal she was more full during the day and slept better at night. Hope this helps

Have you considered starting solids.. I did with both my boys at 4-5 months.. I didn't have enough milk so they were formula fed.. I don't know about the waking this both my boys slept through early.. Hope you get some rest soon
