Baby not cooing

My 3 month old is EXTREMELY quiet! Doesn't laugh or coo! She smiles, but is completely silent. Besides fussing/crying for a bottle, you would never know a baby is even in the room. She passed her newborn hearing test, but does not turn to the sound of my voice, or any sound. She does everything else, holds head and chest up, has great head control, rolls over (sometimes) and laughs. Has anyone else experienced this?! I'm freaking out! She maybe makes about 5 grunty noises a day besides crying.

What you probably will be told is not to worry, she is fine. As a mom enjoy your bundle and try not to stress but keep a journal of her stages. Write what you see as well as the mile stones the doctor reports to you. If there is a problem it will eventually show up. All babies develop differently so it may be to early to determine a real problem. Both my children have medical issues that did not show up right away. Both not diagnosed until 2 and 3 years old. I also needed to seek another doctor for my daughter because my pediatrician said she was to young to be diagnosed. Keep interacting with her because it will help the brain develop. You know your daughter the best, so get a second opinion if you still have concerns. Good luck.
