When did your baby get their 1st hair cut? If your baby hasn't gotten one yet, when do you plan to? Or, so you plan to at all? Who did it or who will do it?

My daughter just got her first hair cut at almost 1 1/2 and my aunt who is also a hair stylist cut it. Just her bangs since they kept getting in her eyes.

My son had his first haircut at 5 months and is getting his second at 9 months. He went to the barber with his daddy. My daughter got her first haircut at 1 year.

All 3 of our children had their hair cut before they were 3 months (our first born, a boy at just 6 weeks). They have the biggest lot of hair, it was going sort of moth eaten so my mum (who is a hair dresser just trimmed it). Our first boy has had his hair cut every 3 weeks since! I think it depends on the parents, it's a personal choice!

My son is half Anishinaabe (Native Canadian) and it is tradition not to cut a child's hair until after 7 yrs of age. We have no intention on cutting it unless he comes to us and makes the decision himself. I love his long, dark locks (especially the little curls at the back) and refuse to bend to the pressures of other people telling me he needs a haircut. It's what shapes his personality, his uniqueness. We just need to invent a t-shirt that says "Only stupid people think I'm a girl" lol j/k :)

I believe I took both my boys for their first hair cuts at around 1 year old. They both had hair when they were born. Both had tight blond curls. So if I left it for too long, it could become matted and somewhat difficult to get the shampoo out when washing their hair. My oldest who is now 4 has brown hair and it is mostly straight, but thick. My youngest is now 2 and he still has some curls and it is still on the blondish side.

My daughter was 16mths when i had to shave her hair off because it was the only way to get rid of the nits that she had gotten and i was trying to treat it when i became frustrated and got out her daddys clippers I cried whilst i did it but it was the best thing to do as it grew back and yeah its like she got real hair when it grew back. I think the best time to cut baby hair is when it becomes a problem to the baby like bangs getting in her eyes

was called to take pictures the other day of a first hair cut...the little boy was 3 and had dark curls and wanted "soldier hair like Daddy's" so I did the photo shoot of him getting his little buzz cut dressed in his minature uniform and put them together in album for his mom to send to Iraq in his dads Chrismas package... not a dry eye in the place..

I work for a wonderful place calle Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids. I have don first haircuts on ones a young as 1 month old and as old as 4 on a girl. It all depends on weather you think they need it or not. Some have more hair than others and grows faster than others. On little boys you will most likely have to get there hair cut sooner but not always. When you do get the boys hair cut they look so much older though so be prepared for that. If your are not ready for him to look older than I would wait. Just a few tips to make it a much easier for the child is to pretend to get there hair cut a home a couple of times have them sit on a chair, put a cape or towel around them brush there hair maybe use a blow dryer. Explain to them what they doing. Be positive about it. Make it a fun outing like you would if you were going to the zoo. Know that they may still cry or kick and scream and that it is o.k. And if you can find a fun kids salon in your area rather than taking them to your stylist or a Great Clips or something.

My son Ethan was 3 months old when he got his first haircut and we have had to cut it every 4 to 6 weeks since then. He is now almost 2 1/2. Our youngest, Grayson, is
2 1/2 months old and will be getting his first haircut very soon. I suspect it will be the same situation as with Ethan, as they are very similar in many ways. =)
I cut my husband's, my 17 year old Tyler's, Ethan and Grayson's hair myself. My daughter Kait cuts my other two daughter's hair and she gets her's done by my niece! lol

Honest to god my son was 3.5 months old for his first hair cut. A local stylist did it for us, it was pretty simple as he didn't move too much and it was more to just trim the bangs, and around the ears. I wasn't going to cut it but people kept mistaking him for a girl, and the kid was born with at leas 2inch long hair that never fell out. He gets a hair cut now every 6-7 weeks just like daddy.

My son had his first haircut this past February. He was 2 years, 4 months old. I didn't want to, but his bangs were getting in his eyes. Plus, we had just moved near my MIL and I did it for her, so she could say she paid for and was there for his first haircut. I saved every curl I could cram into the baggie lol I was even picking up hair from the floor (pathetic, I know lol) He just turned 3 in October and the only other time his hair has been cut is me trimming his bangs here at home and then about a month ago we went with my husband to let him get his haircut and Jacob wanted to be like Daddy so I let the lady snip his bangs. I keep getting pressured from everyone (in laws mostly) to cut his hair because "he's a boy, not a girl". I finally told my MIL the last time she got preachy about it..."Watchit lady....or I'll send him to school on his first day of pre-school with a blue mohawk." I laughed. She laughed and said "Yeah right" because she doesn't believe me. I totally would though lol

My daughter desperately needs one...I just don't want to do it. Her bangs are in her eyes and she won't keep barettes in or a pony. It's just to the point where a little more and she will have grown them out.
