No only breastmilk or formula until 6 months old. Breastmilk or formula is where they are getting the nutrition they need for proper growth and brain development. They don't need anything else and should not have anything else at 4 months. Baby food does not have the proper nutrient for an infants growth and development. Baby food is used for them to get use to eating from a spoon and learning new textures. If her weight is not increasing you will want to increase her milk intake as that is where her nutrition is coming from. Best place to go is to talk with your doctor. He/she will be able to guide you as to what your baby needs for proper growth and development.

Please please PLEASE look up "virgin gut." Do your research, and decide with your child's pediatrician what is best. Also, if she is breastfed, she may not gain weight as quickly as formula fed babies. If she's breastfed, make sure the pediatrician is following the World Health Organization chart. If she's gaining weight period and having at least 6-8 wet diapers a day, she's getting plenty.
