Baby will no longer take bottle--Does anyone have any advice on how to get a 6 month old to take a bottle?

Hi, Our little girl use to take a bottle 1-3 times a week. This slowly went down to once a week and then a month and half ago..refuses it all together...for myself, my husband, and my mother. She will eat her food and thinks a sippy cup is a toy...she will spit the bottle out and slap it away and cry but will then readily breastfeed. I really want her to get this skill back as I'm a stay at home mom who occasionally would like to go out on my own for a bit.

Thanks Dove. She nurses to sleep (use to take the bottle as well) and does spend 5-6 hours one day a week without me. Also, if I want to ever go out at night I can't. She'd go to bed hungry. This is my first child. Will most babies drink a 5+ ounces from a sippy cup? I'm a little confused what direction to go..stick with a trying to have relearn a bottle or use a sippy.

I don't have the answer you are looking for, but if you're only going out for a few hours she should be fine with just solids until you return. Keep working (casually) on the sippy cup. She'll get it eventually. At 6 months there really isn't a need for a bottle and saves you from having to 'break' a bottle habit later anyway.
