My 9 month old was getting a bath and I noticed pink horizontal lines on her lower back. I thought they were marks her diaper had left but noticed them again at her next bath & that's when I realized they were stretch marks. She is at 100 percentile in height so I'm assuming that's what caused them. I just can't find anything online with an explanation so I'm reaching out here. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the insight Sarah.
After looking at it again, I noticed it on her buttocks and now on the sides of her tummy. It's looking more like a rash of some sort. I tried to do some research based on the appearance and the closest thing I found to it was Bartonella Rash....which sounds terrifying! Calling the pedi tomorrow before I try to use anything on it. I will post a picture once I figure out how to do it.

I found it a strange place for stretch marks, but perhaps not. I could not really find info on stretch marks on the lower back.

My daughter is fifteen and very athletic, she does not have one single stretch mark or her thighs, rear end, breasts (or so she says) or her arms. She is quite tall, and grew over 4 inches in 9 months. She has the exact marks you describe, on her lower back just above her bathing suit bottoms, several horizontal lines about 6-8 inches long. The pediatrician noted them during her exam for scoliosis and said she had never seen anything like it before. She too, thinks they are stretch marks. We applied vitamin E oil and they have faded to a pale faint line.
