I started weaning my little girl at around 4 1/2 months as she was showing all the signs. She was doing great she loved food but.... She caught a cold about 3 weeks after I started weaning and went off her food and refused to eat any of it just her bottle. I spoke to the health visitor and she told me to lay off feeding her solids for a week which I have done. A week passed and I started her back on it again and she's still refusing it I started her on baby porridge rather than fruit or something nicer but she's just opening her mouth but she will drink her bottle (some of it) I don't know what to do she's 5 1/2 months now HELP!!

She's not ready. She is only 4 1/2 months. The recommendation is 6 months. I would leave it alone for a bit. My daughter showed no real interest in solids until she was 7-8 months, and she is a perfectly healthy 9 year old. Just let her be for a while.
