Hello there,
I carpool with my neighbor every day. He picks up my 6 year old daughter in the morning & I pick his daughter (also 6) after school. Well, he recently got a job part-time on Tuesdays & Thursdays and asked if his daughter could stay at my house until 5pm. So that would be about 2 1/2 hours after school. He offered to pay but I said no. He is insisting on doing so. What would be fair to I guess charge? Any insight would be appreciated, thanks in advance!!

Hmmmmm.....Maybe $30-$50 per week? Just really to help with the food she will consume? Maybe less. I am just thinking about $10 bucks per hour, but if you want to keep it neighborly just figure out how much money it will cost to feed her. Chances are with a part time job, he is not making a hell of a lot...so I really would not go OVER $50. I think I would say $30 personally.

Thanks, so much! I think I'm going with about $30. I still feel bad about it but if he insists then that's what I'll say & go from there.
