Can a 20 month old have bad dreams but night after night, she is not teething or anything like that I dont know if sh is stress out since i started a job and she has to go to daycare and she is not with me all day or what it is. ( and if thats what it is how long will it tak for her to get use to it?)

She will wake up a few times a night and scream, sometimes it takes awhile to calm her down again. Please help I have no clue what to do.

changes in the enviroment can cause children to have those 'night terrors'. both of my kids had those after their father came up missing in our lives. when they would wake up i would talk to them (even though they couldnt really tell me about the dream) and tell them its going to be okay. hug, hold and kiss them until they were back to sleep. and when my kids started daycare, they hated it but after about 3 weeks and making friends they began to like it.

I really think it is just stress from starting daycare, it would be really hard when she has been with me so long then we take her to someone that she does not know, i really hope that she will not take very long to get use to daycare for her and I both. I'll keep you updated make at the end of this week or mid this week.

My Daughter used to get night terrors, on a fairly regular basis. She still has bad dreams sometimes but for the mostly they are gone. When she had them she never really woke up, just screamed and screamed. just try and comfort her, also maybe try quite time before bed.

Oh i'm so sorry. How stressful and exhausting for both of you.

Have you talked with her daycare to see how she does there? Does she seem to enjoy going to daycare? How is her vocabulary? can she vocalize her feelings at all about daycare or what is bothering her or what her dreams are that scares her?

I recall my cousin having these night terrors. She was around 3 i think. Her parents were divorcing and we were sleeping at grandma and grandpas house. She would wake up screaming and shaking and grandma would just rock her, consoling her that it will be alright. But Sam's eyes weren't really awake. I think she eventually grew out of it. But she screamed every night that whole week.

I'm sorry, i hope it passes quickly for you both.
