I had an ultrasound at 34 weeks and the ultrasound tech said that my boy was 6 and a half pounds, I am now 39 weeks and one day as of today..what would his weight be right now? Looking for an estimate! As I know ultrasound weight can be off by two pounds!

Mine was about a week and a half late. But I figured he would come when he was ready. Most babies are not born on their due dates after all. So don't get too sad if the date passes.

Freedom of movement was the most important thing for me to manage my labor. I plan on going drug free again. But that's the type of person I am. Labor isn't excruciating for me. At least it wasn't the first time around. Also, my bag of waters didn't pop untill the second stage. I hear that has an influence.

If you are birthing in a hospital, do be prepared for a 1 in 3 chance of a c-section, even if you are low risk. Not saying hospitals are bad. But birth in them are more highly managed. So surgery is a real possibility. It doesn't make you less of a woman if it happens. Don't be afraid though, as c-sections are pretty safe now days. (one of the reason I chose to birth at home is because I want a large family, and having lots of babies and c-sections don't mix as well as having just 2 to 3 babies.)

Childbirth is hard work. It's a little bit crazy. But you FINALLY get to meet your litte one! By the time I gave birth, I didn't care how hard it might be, I just didn't want to be pregnant anymore.

Try to be more excited. Don't worry. You were designed to do this. Even with a hard labor, childbirth can be happy.

An ultrasound can be as much as 3 pounds off. There is now way to know untill baby is here what baby will weigh. Don't worry, fat is squishy. I gave birth to an over 8 pounder and didn't even need a stitch.

I'm with Amy, don't rush to get an epidural as soon as it becomes painful. Giving birth is painful but if you have the right mindset then you can do it with nothing or the gas and air.
I had my 1st (8lb, huge head) via ventousse without pain relief.
My 2nd was a lot smaller (7lb 4oz) induced, 50min labor, no pain relief.
My 3rd was in between (7lb 9oz) natural labor 3 days early, 4 hour labor and only gas and air.

I ended up with 37!!!!!! stitches with my first because he had a huge head and the doctor "ripped" him out of me. You can still get through the pain and go for more :)

If he ultrasound is right the baby when born will be about 9 pounds because babies grow more near the end but if wrong I think around 7pounds. My baby boy was 7 pounds 12 and my bump was small I was shocked when they told me he weighed that as he was so small and light hope this helped

Thank you! Wow a week and a half late, that's crazy! I was having short little pains last night so I thought that might have been something but it was nothing because they stopped. Yeah I don't want to have a c section I would rather birth vaginally because I want to feel it. :)
I know this is my first but I also know from friends and have heard that child birth is such an amazing experience and you forget about all the pain when your bundle of joy is out anyway :) I'm pretty excited about meeting him but not too excited in staying on the maternity ward by myself without my fiance there at night, they will only let him stay until 9PM.visiting hrs. It sucks! But hope I won't be in hospital for too long after having him!

Also, don't fret about childbirth. Whatever you need while in labor is fine. I did choose the homebirth route because that is how I felt the most comfortable/safest. I'm not wonderful with pain. But I can't wait till I get to give birth again. Labor is darn hard work. But it is so intimate. It can be a time of awesome closeness to your support people.

If you need pain meds to make it a better experience for you, do it. If you don't want it that's fine too. barring an emergency, birth however you feel you need to.

Yes! Some of my friends told me that.. Not sure, I am thinking of getting the epidural it all depends on how bad the contraction pain is...scared to feel the pain lol. So nervous!

Aww good luck on the birth. Are you going natural? I got told the heavier the baby the easier the baby comes out.
