Be very careful of sheepskin rug products. Make 100% sure they have been approved suitable for children. Someone gave me a sheepskin rug when my boy was born and he lay on it to play sometimes. Then later I put it in his pram and even used it to prop up the end of my daughter's be underneath a sheet. But!!!! I have just found out that they use chemicals such as arsenic in the treatment of sheepskin. Here in New Zealand during the 1970s we all grew up sleeping and playing on sheepskin rugs. But now it has been proven that this is very dangerous and that they can cause respiratory problems such as allergies and asthma. I had terrible problems with asthma and allergies as a child and yes my boy does now have a winter cough and a wheeze. So..... double check all sheepskin products and don't give them to your friends as presents.

Even if you wash them or put them underneath linen the chemicals can still affect your child. So..... double check all sheepskin products and don't give them to your friends as presents.
