How do I prevent my 22 month old daughter from wanting a bottle in the middle of the night.I have noticed that she is gaining weight because she still wakes up in the middle of the night wanting a bottle at 2 or 3 AM. I have to stop her from drinking too much milk so does anyone have any ideas? I'm a first time mom!

On a side note, gaining a bit of weight at any time in these early years often happens before a growth spurt. Unless your doctor is concerned don't sweat her weight gain. I do agree about the nighttime feeds.

by now, you should be weaning from the bottle anyway. Stop giving her one at night, or only give her water in a sippy cup.
To wean, start giving one bottle a day in the sippy cup. In a couple of days, up that to two...and in no time, the bottles are gone for good.
Don't offer juice as a bribe, though.

You stop giving them to her. Or you offer water. However, at this age, she shouldn't be waking that frequently for a bottle.
