6:30 does sound quite early to me. My 9 month old goes to bed at 8:30 and my 2 year old goes to bed at 9. both of them sleep until 8-9 (most nights anyway). Usually a child of that age will sleep 10-12 hours at night. Try keeping her up later and see how it goes. It may take a few days far her body to adjust to the changes, so be patient. Good luck.

6:30?? My god thats a early bed time esp for a 1 year old. I dont think my children have ever gone to bed that early (unless its a punishment). In my home we are finishing up dinner at 6:30. Shes prob waking up at 4:30 am because shes hungry, that is 10 hours without food! I would for sure make her bedtime later! When my older ones were 1 they went to bed between 8-9 depending on what was going on that night. My 2 year old now also started a bed time of 9 pm at age one, and now at age 2 goes to bed at 8 pm. All three of them slept until 7-9 am every morning (man i loved the ones that slept in LOL).

You should try something different to see if that helps at all. Every child is different and some require more sleep than others. I have a 2 year old and 4 year old. They both go to sleep on average at around 8:30pm. Sometimes a bit earlier or a bit later depending on what time they woke up. When they were around your daughter's age, they were going at around 7:30pm with one nap late morning or early afternoon.

I would alter her schedule slowly 15 mins later to bed for a few nights then another 15 minutes later for a few night etc until you find the right time for you both.

My daughter now 2 goes to bed at 8 as this fits in with the family and she has done so since she was about 1. She has a sleep at 12.30 until 2.30 every day and normally wakes between 7.30 and 8am. If your daughter is having two sleeps a day this maybe where your problems lies. Try and give her one sleep around lunchtime for a couple of hours and see how she gets on. A child at 1 needs 13 hours sleep altogether so 2 in the day means 11 at night. If you put her down at 6.30 then she will naturally wake at 5.30 if not before. Try to alter her schedule so you will both benefit from some well deserved sleep!
