Bee bee guns for my 4 year old grandson scared

[deleted account] ( 9 moms have responded )

He is 4 and his uncle bought him a bee be gun, I hate it scared cause his dad lets him play bad games on x box and he is a criminal . My daughter is seeing how he dos and in a back yard in city. Why do this its bad enough with all what going on. With guns, city we live in I'm the grandmother. Have 4 children raised, and this child likes guns a lot. The uncle bought it , trying to say it's in a controlled place. What is wrong with my daughter, the 4 year old. Is way older than he is and ackes to bold and way above his age . My daughter is gonna give him a chance. . Just to try it out,!,,,, r u kidding. He will go to school and tell the kids I got a gun, I'm sick over this, she is not with father of him, but the though. Of him his uncle, he works at store that makes bow and arrows. I feel this is wrong. He is gonna love it. That's the way my baby is, his father is no role model, into I'm grand parent. But I have him a lot he's sweet and loves me, but so surprised at my daughter, any suggestions, I know I'm not the mom, but I am a mom and I'm really worried, that she would even my daughter considering letting him try it in a controlled backyard is it any of my business, please can someone help me or answer me to my situation thank you

I don't know if there is a language issue here, but I don't understand most of your post. IMO it doesn't matter if the dad is a criminal or a saint, you don't put a weapon like a BB gun in the hands of a 4yo. Period. Again, like Dove pointed out, it isn't your decision. You can at least, tell his mother to make him where some eye protection if she is going to let him use the BB gun.

I totally understand that's it's your grand kid but I would really talk some sense into the mom no 4 year old should have a gun or even be touching one... It's not safe and this world is crazy I should know my son is mentally ill and I fear that everyday and we don't even have a gun but he always says he's going to me or some one ... So I keep him far away from that stuff and he's 9 .. So I would really talk to your daughter and try to get her to change her mind .. Good luck

Sorry I have trouble typing, they got me a I pad to make it easier, I must sound like a 2 year old. I was trying to get some input on my daughter , who's uncle got a BB gun at his House for Christmas and I don't understand why some 1 would want to show a 4 year old this, I no he's not my child, I called next day my daughter to see how it went, because she called me night before, to say well I no u will probably here this from xxxxxx name do not want to say, that he is gonna tell u about this, I was speechless, but she noes how I feel about guns, but he is not a child u want to introduce a gun too. Lost for words I googled it about age , and as long as a 18 -year-old adult, can purchase it there is no age that says, a child can use it in ct as long as a adult is with him, he had goggles and uncle was showing him respect for guns, and put it on safety, and lock up but WHY A 4 YEAR OLD, MY DAUGHTER THINKS ITS OK , SO SHE WAS THERE, AND just no sense, he's a baby , and enough violence in world, I'm worried he's gonna go to pre school, and say I used a gun, again not my child but my baby, wrong road for him, but I have no say, maybe this may help u understand what I was saying, and asking, some oh pinions Ty

No child should have any kind of gun... That's just wrong he's way to little to understand safety and it send out the wrong message to a four year old ... Sorry I wouldn't even let my 13 year old have a bee bee gun even though he has asked several times ... I will not allow it in my house..

What makes you think I think it is OK?! I think it is absolutely idiotic to give a 4 year old a bb gun.

Fact remains though... if it's not your child it's not your decision. If that were my daughter I would flat out tell her what an idiot she is being and if she could not get my grandson out of that environment (if there are police raids in the child's house?!) I would report it to CPS and fight for custody to protect that child.

Yes try, but he lives in a house of violence . And he will feel power, at 4 he should be playing kids stuff. He will toto school and say he has a gun, yes I have no control what my daughter does. There's enough violence in this world, and just turned 4 , he already has violence tendinitis, u
Think its ok dove. U fear he might pick up a real one thinking it's ok, I said your child .but be carful,he is and has bad tendencies give a water gun to play with let him be a child, my sweet heart. My love my heart. I never tell her what to do. But when he sees his house raided at 7 am swat it's scary, house surrounded. With state troopers, for a 2
3 4 year old I fear for his sake a love of a grandmother I'm not old, I didn't raise her this way, heart broken I am.

Her child... her business. If you are against it you can absolutely forbid him to bring the gun to your house, but that's as far as your 'control' goes.
