Yes, it was a long process but in the end we figured out he is bi-polar 2 and PDD-NOS which explained a lot, we went though a lot of trial and error now its easier to get through things now that we know why he does what he does. Good Luck

How old your is your little one?

one thing that helped when he was younger was to gentle redirection, also picking the battles that was a hard one to over come but in the end it helped reduce alot of the tension in the house.

He was diagnosed with bi-polar 2 when he was about 6, and PDD-NOS when he was 14.

How to deal, its more reminding yourself this isn't his fault he is doing these things, you also learn what works for him in terms of discipline and teaching him right from wrong. The key is to know that it isn't your parenting that did this. It does get hard when others are around and you let things slide because you know correcting them will cause a rage, so you don't do what a parent would do with a child with out these challenges,

Thats another thing is they are challenges not problems, at least when you voice them anywhere near the child, challenges are easier to over come for someone and problems they get the feeling that they are no good because of this. i hope that makes sense.

Good Luck I do know its hard, take it one day at a time and remember to take you time.
