Soooo I just moved 1200 miles away from home to live with my fiancé and our little boy. He's the only one here in Florida I know and I'm feeling lonely. He works two jobs and I'm just wondering if anyone else is in or has felt with this before? Suggestions on how to cope?

Get out and meet people. Sign up for mom's groups, volunteer in an area you are passionate about, take your child to story times, music classes, parks, zoos, and other events, and attend events centered around your own hobbies and interests. Try to get out for social time at least once a day. You won't instantly click with everyone you meet, but the more you put yourself out there, the more people you meet and interact with, the more likely you are to meet people you click with, who will become your friends.

How old is your little boy? It can be difficult when they are infants, but once he is a year old or more, it gets much easier to meet people because you will start making sure he is getting positive social interactions, and other moms are out there doing the same thing. If he is still under a year, just focus on activities you enjoy and can bring him along to--I organized a book club for moms at our library when J was little, and it was always easy and fun to bring him along when I volunteered at the hospice or nursing homes, or when I explored different galleries downtown.

Thank you! Those are great suggestions & ideas i didnt think of before! however I wish it was so easy but the neighborhood I live in isnt the greatest.. Also where I live you need a car to get just about anywhere! I often feel stranded. But he is 6 months old which makes it harder. I keep telling myself to wait it out till he's at least a year that way it will be easier to try and get out and about. I love the idea about the library I've only been here 4 months so maybe there are things like that closer than I think I guess I'll have to do some searching!
