I am a working mom of a 2 1/2yr old working about 30 to 35 hours a week and I cannot bring myself to be happy working I'm having a super hard time leaving my son every morning but I know I have to so I can provide from him. This is affecting my work and all I do is wish that I was home with him going to the park making crafts with him and reading to him while he gets ready for his nap. It bothers me constantly and I think about it all the time at work and that all I think about . I can't provide for him without a job so how can I cope with these feelings . I have a good paying job I'm usually the only person working that can do my job, so I don't even know if I can work less hours I wouldn't have people to cover me I can use a bit less hours how do I go about asking without losing my job

Have you considered Job Sharing. A few of the moms at my son's school and in my neighborhood do this. Essentially, they share their full time job, which sort of creates two part time jobs. They share their clients, commissions, bonuses, etc. by sharing the workload. I'm not sure what field you are in, it wouldn't work in certain fields, but these women have made it work in a lot of jobs I wouldn't have thought possible. Two of them are even trial lawyers.
