Besides forcing, how do I get my child to take her medicine? Having real issues, have mixed it with yoghurt, juice, tried to bribe with food and tv, but still nothing!

All my kids get there meds in syringes. I find that the walgreen will give them out and i like it cause they are accurate. If all else fails you can go to a store like fleet farm and get them.

Little one loves syringes. Get one from your pharmacist and firstly play with water squirting it into her mouth and allowing her to do it herself. My one loved it and now takes his meds. Hope this helps you though.

Thanks all! She is 2 and a 1/4, hasn't been sick in almost a year, and has never been easy to medicate! Today has been a whole lot easier for some reason... we have been able to bribe using Peppa Pig... she also takes it better when Dad is holding her... Thanks all for your help... I love the idea about giving her a syringe to play with... gonna put one in the toy basket in the bath! Thank you all!

syringes are great! seems to bypass most of the taste buds as it shoots into their mouth thus resulting in far less drama. I still use them for my year old just to avoid all the whining she does over medicine cups or teaspoons!

yes the syringes are great, you can also get a special top for the med bottles so the syringe fits easy. Target does this I know... When I was in the USA they gave them to us when my Claire was sick. But outside USA you can ask the pharmacy and they will give it to you but you have to ask. One pharmacist was like she is too old for a syringe just use a spoon...I was like no....I have to pay for mine a few cents but worth it. They tend to like them!

I had this problem, my Claire had to take many medicaitons and it was not easy at first until we did this... not sure if it will help you but it is worth a try.

We would put Claire on a chair and she could not leave the chair until she took her medication. We did not yell, plead or bribe. It was want to get off the chair then take your medicine. After a few times she did it...and now it is not any problem. I took the battle out of the battle and just stood at the chair with her ....but I did not give any attention just stated once in a while take you medicine get out of the chair... Also I use a syringe for all medications so no spills and I can make sure what she gets in.... She was spitting it out but again we would just say that is not good for you. But we did not give up.... after a few weeks...it was a non issue.
