When my children needed to be disipline they had to write sentences for young ones is was 5 sentences. Older pre teen and teenangers usally 100 sentences. This works because there is no yelling, it reinforces positive behavior. They can pracitce pennmenship. I have raised 5 children my youngest is now 20yrs. old. I now have my grandchildren write sentences when they are here for a few days and they are not getting along. I sit them down write a sentence on top of their page and tell them to write it 20 times. Like " I will not push or hit at Grandmas house. " This always works and it solves the promblem.

My oldest daughter had to write sentences in Jr. High all the time and she said that teacher was her favorite. Thats where I got the idea.

I'm considering trying this method of discipline when my children are old enough to write. I'm glad to hear you've had positive results with it. :)

I remember having to write an essay (in school) for chewing gum and why it is not allowed in the classroom.

It was really effective! I never chewed gum in class after that!! :)
