My last child is away at college and I have no friends or romantic relationship. Where do I go from here?

Something doesn't sound right about your job.
It doesn't sound right about your whole story. You are asking what you do once your child is away but then say you work all the time.
How about you get your story straight before posting.

This site is actually international so if you don't explain things properly it's gets confusing.
Maybe finding a job where they respect their workers more would be a good start. Even sign up to class that interests you. There are plenty of night classes available.

I am just trying to mingle with new people. And I am fighting my job about weekends being my regular day off and overtime is optional. What I meant is getting back out in the social world, dating and traveling now that my children are grown. Boy! Someone said this is america but why do I feel so foreign.sorry if you misunderstood me I am just trying to socialize with new adults

Good point michelle, if you are so busy working, then you won't have time to miss your kids

Schedule other activities for when you have your scheduled time off. What you do on your own time (provided it isn't illegal or slandering the company) is none of your employers or co-workers business.

If you are having this much trouble having a life of your own I would highly suggest some therapy as soon as possible.

You are in the US. You cannot, legally, be worked over 40 hours a week, and you don't need to give any reason for why you cannot work on your scheduled days off. Whoever has you thinking that has you over a barrel.

So, first, STAND UP FOR YOURSELF! You are a grown woman with grown kids, and you are letting other adults dictate what YOU do with YOUR spare time?

Because this job tries to work you to death and I would have to tell my job Why I can not work on that day the event takes place in order to get the day off and bring in proof in order to still get paid for the day. And that's not what I was talking about when I mentioned my co-workers. W hat I meant was that they are very mean to me so it makes me afraid to explore on my own at least not here in New York

Why would your co-workers even need to know if you are taking a class or volunteering?

Okay But it's going to be hard because my co-workers makes me fearful from their harsh treatment.

You find something that you want to do. Join a class that interests you, volunteer at your local charity shop, find groups of like minded people.
They won't come knocking at your door, you need to go out and find them.
