Hello all you moms! My doctor again expressed to me how she believes are son is going to be a BIG guy, at least 10lbs. And is already starting to talk to me about possibly being induced early and or having a c section due to how big he will be. Anyone else deal with this or anything similar??? Need to somewhat be at ease at hearing this is normal!

I had the same issue, and they predicted she would be 9lbs, 5 oz. She was 9lbs, 3 oz, so they were pretty close. But, during the ultrasounds, they had concerns about her head size, and length, due to measurements they conducted during the ultrasound. I decided to go C-section in advance (by one week) versus getting in a situation where they would have to assemble a team for an emergency C-section two months before my due date. Towards the last month, she stayed Frank Breech, so in the end, I would've had to go planned C-section anyways. So, yes, it's normal, but I would follow the recommendations of your OB.

I would go to a specialist and get them to do a growth assessment! They can usually predict within ounces. My doctor and everyone thought my baby was going to be huge but he was 7lbs 12oz. The specialist predicted 7lbs 8 oz so he was VERY close. I ended up getting an emergency c-section b/c baby went in distress. He is a healthy baby boy.

The thing is, they don't really know how big it is until it's out. They told me my one was probably over 10 pounds. He was 7 pounds 9 oz. They told my sister hers was small and she came out at 11 pounds 3 oz.

Being induced early isn't the worst thing in the world. You get to plan ahead and not have to stress about being alone when you go into labor. You can somewhat pick the birthday. (I say somewhat because inducement can take a long time and labor takes awhile so it might be a day off)

The down side is inducement hurts more. I've been induced twice and whew it's much worse. Although my last one, the one most clear in my mind, was no epidural and inducement... not fun!
