im thinking about taking a course for massage therapy.. its a 2 year course and i would be doing most of the schooling from home but have one weekend a month at the school. I have a 21 month old daughter and am worried that i will have a hard time learning from home and and afraid to fail! the course is like $7000 each year. i am a stay at home mom at the moment but i no im going to have to go back to work evenually but i no if i can do this course i can run my own bussiness out of our home and can pick my own working hours which would make my schedual flexable so i can be there for stuff in my kids life (baseball games, school plays ect) has anymore else done a course from home? how did u manage ur time? was it hard? do u think i should do it?

I did my medical transcription training at home. It took a year longer than I had planned (cost me an extra $500 to extend) primarily because I had a toddler and a high-risk pregnancy during the time I was doing it, so I lost a lot of time being in the hospital for the pregnancy.

I have to say it can be hard doing a course from home, but I did most of the coursework at night after my daughter (then daughters) went to bed. It was worth it to be able to have the schedule flexibility to get the coursework done, and it has been worth it to have the schedule flexibility to be able to work from home.

I would totally recommend doing it as it is worth it to avoid costs of commuting and daycare and it gives you more freedom in your schedule as your children get older.
