Bio Mom Pregnant Again!

Hello All, We have a foster daughter that is the youngest of 5 siblings. They all have the same Mom but different Dads. The siblings are split into 4 different homes. 3 are fully adopted when Bio Mom relinquished to try to keep the one we have. Her oldest 10 and Ours 14 months have been wards of the state for over 6 months. Termintion is set for the end of January. I just found out Mom is 5 moths pregnant and will give birth before termination, What does that mean for this new baby? Will he be removed at birth? Will she get yet another chance to traumatize another baby? (neglect and physical abuse) We are in TX any insight would be great, TIA!

Yikes. What a shame for her, yet a blessing for families like you who are willing to parent and adopt children that are not biologically linked. I would suspect, if there is an open case, that this child will be turned over to the state at birth. Unless mom comes in with good documentation of her efforts to improve her situation and parenting skills. Can you reach out to the caseworker of the foster child? Do you desire to take in and adopt both children? If this is her 6th child, then her history will play into the guardianship of this baby.
I used to work as a nurse in L&D and I have witnessed (and help to subdue) many women who were "automatically" losing their child. So very painful for these moms. But with a messy history, some agencies elect to protect the baby before the fact. I think that is where you are at; so get in touch with CPS or DCFS or the agency that supports you as foster parents and find out what to do now, so you can help this baby.,
