Biological father wants to get on his wife's insurance, drop my son, have me claim him every year and then in turn I pay for everything he needs...does this seem fair?

So I talked to my son's father and he wants to go on his wife's insurance because he wants to get a different job that doesn't have insurance, and then have me cover our son under BadgerCare. He then stated since my insurance is basically free it would only be fair if I claim our son every year for tax return, which usually we do every other year, but then I would have to pay for everything...this includes school lunch, school fees, tutor, sporting gear, sports fees, and everything that we were suppose to spoilt 50/50 before. Does this seem fair?

I would call your lawyer and get some legal advice on this issue to ensure you do not get screwed. he should still be paying child support either way.

Do NOT agree to anything w/out talking to your lawyer and get it court ordered. My ex is actually required to provide our kids w/ medical insurance, but since he doesn't have a job that has it... my kids have state insurance. I am also allowed to claim our kids every year on tax returns AND my ex is still required to pay child support (he doesn't... but it's adding up on him).

So basically he would not have to ever pay for anything except clothes that are needed when my son goes to his house. I feel like he is trying to screw me over, especially the year that I would claim my son anyways on my tax returns. And I don't feel that the government should have to pay for things that he should have to do as a father. Just need some opinions moms!! It is 50/50 by the way.
