Hi there I am 36 yrs old and have two beautiful boys aged 8 and 9 months. I went off meds to have my 9 month old. I feel aweful everyday. I am up for two days and then down for a couple then normal moods etc. I feel dizzy with anxiety going to the local shops for a simple trip. I can barely cope with the baby, house work and cooking. I just manage to have a shower, don't brush my hair or wear make up at times as I simply cannot manage. My partner whose father is a Doctor says not to go back onto the meds as they are not good for my health and he can deal with the ups and downs. I'm drawn to the meds so I am a better mother and partner. Not sure what to do he does have a point ?

If you are not breastfeeding your baby and you feel better and can function better on the meds, then you should probably get back on them. My step-kids' mom is bi-polar and off meds for the past 2-3 years. She thinks she's managing, but the kids will tell me how she ignores them or curses a lot and some days does not get out of her pajamas. It's ultimately up to you whether to take the meds. But if you feel it makes you better, then the kids will feel it too, and you should be the best you can be for your kids.

YOu need to be functional for your children. I hate meds myself however you need to be fit for your little ones. They depend on you and you won't be any good to them if you are not at your best mentally, physically, etc. Praying helps tons too. :)
