For me it's not a case of right or wrong, but what you are trying to achieve by not adding him. After all, he IS the baby's father. He can still go for his rights whether he is on the birth certificate or not. Like Shawnn, I hope this choice is not based around the desire to cut him out of the baby's life. Because if that is the case, then you ARE wrong.

Wrong or right actually depends on the legalities of your state/country/province.
Some places require that mom provide the name of the father, regardless of marital or relationship status, and regardless of whether or not mom wants to name the father. Other places don't.
I certainly hope that your desire to not include the child's father on the certificate doesn't indicate that you will not allow contact, because that would definitely be wrong.
