I can't use hormones but need a birth control that will last for a long time (preferably). I used birth control pills (Sprintec 28) and after a few months of taking them I began vomiting them up (like morning sickness), then I was off birth control for 8 months before I got pregnant with my daughter (planned), after her birth I was put on Lo-Seasonique and had the same effects as the other birth control pills, then went from pills to Implanon. Had implanon for a year and it messed up my periods so bad, for that whole year I bled over half the time, so I had it removed and planned to do NPF (bbt, charting cm). The problem with that is I don't always remember to take my temp when I wake up, its my 3rd month doing it and its easy and free, but I think its a hassle. I cannot take hormones (doctor confirmed), I'm allergic to glycerin (component found in lubricants), allergic to nonoxynol-9 (component in spermicide), I'm not comfortable with touching myself down there, so I'm not sure if paragard would work.
So my list of questions (and yes I will ask my doctor too):
1.) what happens if you do not try to find the strings every month?
2.) can rough sex 'dislodge' it?
3.) how do you know if you are allergic to copper? (is there a way to find out)
4.) will my husband be able to feel it?
5.) how would I know if it moves? Can I feel it shifting?
6.) do you still ovulate while using it?
I feel like I'm going to be in the percent chance of women that have it go through the uterine wall or something. Implanon was growing into my body, so maybe that will happen here too? Let me hear you experiences with it.
