Birthday gift advice for my daughter (5)

I am looking for ideas on what to get you daughter (turning 5) for her birthday. I was hoping to find something that would be special between us that she could wear everyday or most days. Is she too young to understand sentimental value or wear a necklace/bracelet?

You sound like a great dad! She is not too young for a necklace/bracelet but she may be too young to keep it safe while playing. You should not buy something that would make you angry if she lost it.

What about an inexpensive watch so that she can become aware of time and, gradually, learn to tell the time? It would need to have clear numbers and hands and be sturdy.

Some board games that you could play together would be good too. For a five year old, I would suggest, Uno, Four in a Row, Guess Who, Junior Monopoly and chess. Of course, part of the present would have to be regular playing time!
