My daughter was born at 35 weeks and had to be revived at birth, she was placed in NICU and was no expected to live due to a bad heart and some other things. she was placed of a hypothermia cooling blanket to prevent brain damage as well as maximum life support. Against all odds she is now 19 days old and completely off support aside from a nose cannula giving her light pressure because she is breathing a little too fast. she now has fat necrosis from revival compressions. has anybody been through this? I'm 18 and a first time mom, just need some reassurance that it is possible my baby girl will be okay. oh she weighed 6 lbs 12 oz and 21 inches long. Any support is greatly appreciated

Thank you so much! But she is actually still in NICU (sorry i didn't clarify that) but things are looking up, she is now eating 2 ounces of my breast milk every 3 hours and the nurses are going to start offering the bottle. It has definitely been a scary road! And yes after going through this any sign that something is not right i will be taking her to the hospital! She's definitely a strong baby!

Oh my goodness you poor girls :( one good sign is you are home with her now so the doctors don't see it as a huge threat as far as I see it. What a little miracle. I hope everything keeps getting better for you. *hugs*

Also if you have a gut feeling that something feels "off" bring her in to see the doctor again. One thing I've learnt is go with your gut no matter what.
