Bottle/breast feeding frustrations

My daughter is 9 months old and I haven't been able to get her to take a bottle until now, but she will only take it once in a while. I used to love breastfeeding, but now when she wants to suck she pulls my shirt down and when its time to eat she will suck for a couple seconds and want to sit up or roll around except for night time. She will take the bottle one time but the next time i try give it to her she will cry. She's starting to eat a lot more now and breastfeeding gets me exhausted by the time she goes to bed, and then she wakes up twice in the night to eat again. I dont want to breastfeed anymore but I feel terrible when she refuses the bottle and won't eat. I've been told that i am confusing her if i breastfeed her sometimes and give her the bottle other times. I've also been told that if she's hungry enough she will take the bottle and not to breastfeed at all. im not sure i feel comfortable waiting for her to decide that shes starving so she'll take the bottle. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of situation? I am also going back to work soon and when i do breastfeed she will emty both sides and still be hungry.

I had the same problem with my second child as well. I had my husband and mom give her the bottle with m sitting right there, even though she wanted me, they repeated the same thing, not mommy, you have a bottle now. It worked after a couple weeks. I also found she didn't like the taste of formula, and went to whole milk instead, since she was eating a wide range of foods already.
Keep at it, if you don't want to breast feed anymore, you have to stop, because she'll keep coming for it if its offered.

Perhaps you are giving her subconscious or unconscious messages that YOU want to stop breastfeeding. I breasted until one year and began giving a cup.....not a bottle to wean my babies. They only got juice or water in a bottle until they are old enough to handle a "tippy" cup and then th bottle disappeared and the cup was all there was.
I stopped breastfeeding, except at night, at around 11 months and used that last month to wean. My sons actually stopped when they got to be around one year. They showed disinterest and I took their cue.

I weaned my son at about 9 months also and I went straight to sippy cups and whole milk maybe this is an option for you.
